Lonely hearts boost web figures

Bored of playing solitaire? Then go browsing for love...

NEWS UK web users flocked to matchmaking sites in February in a desperate attempt to find love. Figures from Nielsen//NetRatings show that matchmaker.com and match.com were among the most successful sites last month, with over 200,000 unique visitors each. Fellow love site, Flowers2send.com, did even better around Valentine's Day, with 232,000 visitors. The figures come from the Nielsen//NetRatings monthly web rankings. On a less cheerful note, all but one of the top ten performing sites saw a drop in the unique visitors in February. MSN is still number one, followed by Yahoo! and Microsoft.com. BT's site ranked number eight, even though its figures were down 12 per cent on the previous month.
