AOL dumps Netscape and CompuServe brands

End of an era...

NEWS AOL is dumping its Netscape Online and CompuServe 2000 services to give more clout to its new broadband offering due out next month. Both ISP services will be killed off by the end of June and subscribers to the service will be given three months' free trial of the AOL service. There are hundreds of thousands of subscribers to the CompuServe Classic service but these people will not be affected. An AOL spokesperson told the Guardian only a small minority of people will be affected by the move.
