Silver surfers ride the Barclays bus

Web-wise OAPs to put to rest 'new-fangled thingummy-jig' stereotypes...

NEWS Barclays is investing £600,000 in four buses which will be fitted with IT equipment for use by elderly people and their carers. The buses will be used for training sessions and internet access over the next three years. Barclays will also be working alongside Age Concern to take mobile computing equipment into day centres to bring internet access to those unable to get out and about. It is expected there will be over 1,000 visitors to each bus during the three-year period helping to get more older people on the web.
