NEWS Shares in UK tech companies were down this morning following Nasdaq's overnight fall. The London FTSE tech index was down 0.7 per cent at 1,187.8 and blue chip index FTSE 100 traded 0.2 per cent weaker at 5,239.4. Market watchers said the FTSE's sluggish performance was due to Nasdaq falling by 3.1 per cent last night. Nasdaq was hit by poor results from Peoplesoft and analyst downgrades of Microsoft and IBM. By 10:05 am (GMT) this morning's big losers were software company Autonomy, whose share price slid overnight by 14.25p to 398p down 3.46 per cent, and tech consultancy Logica whose share fell 16p to 438.75 down 3.25 per cent.
