WorldCom threatens staff cuts

More job losses on the way?...

NEWS As many as 10 per cent of WorldCom's 75,000 staff face losing their jobs as the squeeze on the telecoms industry continues. According to reports in the Wall Street Journal the internet carrier, which has already laid off thousands of employees, could be about to make thousands more redundant The company has suffered at the hands of the telecoms meltdown and is also being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission with regards to its accounting practices.
