BT brings broadband to Microsoft homeworkers

And its own employees...

NEWS BT has inked a deal with Microsoft to give 1,500 of its homeworksers broadband links to the company's main network. Details of the deal are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, according to reports in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph. BT is set to repeat this installation within its own company. Around 5,500 of its own employees will be switched to faster internet access. The incumbent expects to save as much as £1m for every 1,000 workers it transfers from ISDN to broadband. BT has set next March as its target for reaching one million broadband connections in Britain. It currently has only about 150,000.
