Knapp to go in NTL rescue plans

Co-founder set to be ousted...

NEWS Barclay Knapp, the American co-founder and CEO of NTL, looks set to be ousted as the company continues its negotiations with bondholders. The company is drowning in debts totalling £12bn and bondholders are keen to appoint an executive better suited to heading a company running on cash rather than aiming for growth. According to reports in yesterday's The Business the company's chairman and finance director also face being thrown out. The paper also speculated Knapp's replacement will be British.
