NEWS Ericsson has clinched a deal with T-Mobile to provide multi-messaging (MMS) technology in Britain, Germany and Austria. MMS allows people to send video and audio clips via their mobile phones. This next generation of SMS messaging has proven to be a great success in Japan and South Korea where the technology is based on a different standard. Earlier this month Hungary became the first country in the world to use the MMS standard to enable users to send video, pictures and sound. The financial details of the T-Mobile deal, which follows hot on the heels of a similar global deal with Vodafone, have not been revealed.
