'Monster, monster revenues' says break-even bound Monster

NEWS Online recruitment firm Monster.com is aiming to make a pro forma profit in Europe this year. Monster.com founder Jeff Taylor said the European division will reach break even or just above by the end of the third quarter. The company, which has been operating in Europe since 1996, is already generating an operating profit in some European countries. European business accounted for 13 per cent of Monster.com's $109m revenue in the last quarter, but Taylor said he expects this to rise to 30 per cent in the next five to 10 years.
Last week, TMP Worldwide, Monster.com's parent company, cut 525 jobs after its global earnings fell by over one third. For related news, see:
