BTopenworld extends 'free' ADSL offer

No bounds to its generosity

NEWS BTopenworld is extending its free ADSL activation offer until the end of August. The offer - first unveiled in March - was due to close on 31 May, but BTopenworld has now extended it for new subscribers to its Home 500 and Business 500 Plug & Go broadband products until 31 August. Customers still have to pay equipment charges of £85 and a monthly subscription of £29.99. BTopenworld is currently trying to encourage its dial-up customers to switch to broadband. It recently reduced the amount of time Anytime customers can stay online during a 24 hour period from 16 hours to 12 hours (see http://www.silicon.com/a53154 ).
