7,000 more jobs to go at Siemens

Are you losing count yet?

NEWS Less than a month after confirming 6,500 jobs would go at its fixed-network business, German engineering group Siemens is contemplating losing another 7,000 staff. Siemens said yesterday that it would make 2,000 workers redundant in its industrial solutions and services division and hope that a further 5,000 employees will be taken on by partner firms. Earlier this week Siemens sold its router business to Juniper Networks in a deal worth $740m.
