Good news, bad news for Deutsche Telekom

Bored of the swings, German telco takes a turn on the roundabout...

NEWS German telecoms giant, Deutsche Telekom, offered mixed news yesterday when its first quarter results showed heavy overall losses but an encouraging upsurge in subscribers to its online and mobile divisions. Losses for the three months to the end of April were E1.8bn (£1.1bn). These were below market expectations and were due in large part to a decline in fixed-line revenues. T-Online's subscriber numbers were up from 8.67 million a year ago to 11.24 million. Meanwhile T-Mobile saw its underlying profits double.
