NEWS Gerald Ratner, the entrepreneur famed for describing the jewellery sold in his chain of stores as "total crap" is planning a come back with Ratners Online. Ratner is seeking £4m to fund his latest venture and get its shares listed by July. The new company will take on the online business of Argos by selling jewellery at prices it claims are up to 30 per cent cheaper than those of retailers. Ratner has admitted his outburst back in 1991 ruined his career but is adamant he benefited from the publicity.
