TechMARK limps out of bed

Feeling ever so slightly better after yesterday's crash...

NEWS The FTSE TechMARK gained some ground this morning after closing yesterday at its lowest level ever. First thing this morning the index still hovered below the 1,000 point mark, the lowest it has been since launching in November 1999. But within the first hour of trading it gained 0.3 per cent to stand at 993.4. The TechMark was launched in the middle of the high-tech boom to provide an index for the growing number of technology IPOs. On its debut it reached 5,753.46, heights it has never seen again.
