Former employee wins $5m in compensation...

NEWS AOL Time Warner has been ordered to pay damages to a former Netscape executive it fired wrongly in 2000. A jury in California ordered the media giant to pay the Ronald Arnold $3.5m in compensation for accusing him of doctoring an administrative assistants time sheet and firing him. Earlier this week, Arnold was awarded $1.5m by another court in Santa Clara for the defamation by AOL, although his lawyers had attempted to win him 10 times more than that. Also, Arnold was not allowed to exercise his share options when he was fired. AOL intends to appeal.
