NEWS Auction house Sotheby's is to launch its joint site with eBay on Thursday. After Thursday 13 June, Sothebys.com will cease to trade but customers will be able to log onto the site to access wares through eBay. Sotheby's announced its plans to relaunch under the eBay banner using eBay's Live Auctions Systems at the start of the year. However, the companies have been struggling to agree on how to sell top priced art and collectible items over the internet. This is the 200 year-old auction house's second attempt to forge an online partnership. It previously opened a joint site with Amazon in 1999 but it closed a year later.
