Internet café tragedy in China

NEWS A fire at an illicit cybercafé in Beijing killed 24 people and injured 13 others yesterday. News agency reports suggest the venue was one of thousands of underground venues for surfing the web in China. The country's government takes a hard line on which places can provide net access, meaning some cafés operate without proper safety precautions in place.
