NEWS Shares in troubled Qwest Communications surged 20 per cent yesterday after the company's chairman resigned. Joseph P. Nacchio made more than $100m last year in salary and stock sales and could be in line for a tidy severance package. Reports in the press yesterday suggested Nacchio was forced to resign by members of the board following the company's poor financial performance
