Durlacher exits dot-com arena

nothing-ventured.com, nothing-gained.com...

NEWS Durlacher, the venture capitalists who came to represent the optimism and opportunity of the commercial internet, is actively seeking a buyer for its online broking service at a much-reduced valuation. nothing-ventured.com is up for sale for around £11m and Durlacher insists it has received interest from a number of third parties. At the height of the dot-com boom Durlacher was worth £2bn. Durlacher's portfolio of dot-com investments included The451.com and Anglo-American publishing venture which went bust last autumn. Durlacher will return to traditional investment banking and stock broking.
