NEWS Avaya is claiming a World Cup victory in the performance of the broadband networks it created to help manage the quadrennial footy fest. Avaya said today its network has already carried four terabytes of data since the start of the tournament, and expects to carry ten terabytes by the end of the competition. This quantity of data is equal to half of the data held in the largest library in the world, the US Library of Congress, which holds 24 million volumes of books. Avaya is also trumpeting a packet loss rate of less than 0.00001 per cent in all the data that has been transmitted - and no downtime.
