EDS and IBM lose out to outsourcing minnow

NEWS UK business continuity company Synstar has sealed a £21m contract with Westland Helicopters to run its IT infrastructure and provide backup for its 3,000 users. Synstar beat outsourcing giants EDS and IBM to the contract. The agreement expands an existing deal with Westland for which it currently provides computer services support. The deal is for six years and is valued at £3.5m per year. Shares in Synstar rose 2.5 per cent on the news to 47p this morning.
