Maine man mints it...

NEWS Kingston Communications, the Hull-based alternative carrier, has rewarded chief executive Steve Maine with a 40 per cent pay increase despite overseeing multi-million pound losses. Steve Maine received £580,000 for the 12 months to March, a pay package which included a £136,000 bonus. Kingston made losses - including write-downs - of £36.8m in 2001. It did, however, manage to increase revenues from £225.5m to £316.3m in the same period.
