Nokia wins domain name battle

Man with a completely coincidental array of nicknames loses out...

NEWS Nokia has won a domain name battle with a cyber squatter. The company lost the rights to http://www.nokia.me.uk earlier this year, but won it back after a ruling by domain name regulatory body Nominet. The domain was registered by Mr Naqi Jawad who told Nominet that 'Nokia' is his nickname, but the officials rejected his claims after they discovered he had also registered other names such as bmw.me.uk, nissan.me.uk, sony.me.uk, orange.me.uk and vodafone.me.uk.
