Microsoft set to cash in on $332m Telewest stake

More money for Gates and Co...

NEWS Microsoft has reportedly offered to sell its 23.6 per cent stake in cable firm Telewest to Liberty Media. According to a report in the Financial Times Microsoft is prepared to part with its stake for 47.8 cents per share - making the deal worth $332m. John Malone's Liberty Media already owns 25 per cent of Telewest and has been offered first refusal on the shares. If it does not exercise its option Microsoft will be able to sell them to another third party. We'll bring you any developments as they happen.
