US gets its own domain name

Yooo-esss-ay... Yooo-esss-ay... Yooo-esss-ay...

NEWS The dot-US country code domain name was launched today for UK businesses. The domain has already gone live in the US, making it one of the last developed nations to adopt its own country code domain NeuStar, the registry overseeing dot-US, claims the new domain could open up market opportunities in America to British businesses trading under the .co.uk tag. Research from internet marketeers Harris Interactive reported that 68 per cent of Americans would choose to buy from a dot-US domain over a dot-com or foreign domain. NeuStar will issue dot-US domains to UK companies on a 'first come first served' basis. Twinnings Tea and Pringle Sweaters are among the first UK companies to register for the new domain.
