CEOs get their hands dirty with increased ebusiness

More CIO toes being trodden on in the rush to get wired up...

NEWS The widespread roll out of ebusiness projects is closing the gap between CEOs and CIOs, according to new research. European bosses are increasingly taking charge of technology-heavy projects. This is illustrated in research from EDS Solutions Consulting which shows an increase in the number of companies which consider integrating all their business processes strategically important. Ebusiness is now of strategic importance to 20 per cent of the companies surveyed by EDS. This is double the figure for six months ago and a trend that is set to continue. Respondents least happy with their progress in ebusiness were those that have taken a tactical approach - in other words, those that have not chosen to connect every system throughout the enterprise. The survey questioned 339 executives and senior managers in charge of companies worth between $100m to $1bn.
