NEWS The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has supported calls to vote against Vodafone's headline-grabbing executive bonus programme at the company's AGM later this month. Vodafone's chief executive Sir Chris Gent stands to pocket up to £4m by some estimates, despite his company posting a £13.5bn loss and seeing its share price collapse below the £1 mark. The TUC has promised to mount a widespread campaign against what it sees as excessive corporate pay. TUC institutional investment officer Tom Powdrill told the Guardian: "We plan to target several more strategic and symbolic pay packages at AGMs before the end of the year."
