AOL next up for accounting investigators

Who next? Where will it stop?

NEWS AOL TimeWarner has confirmed the US Department of Justice (DoJ) is investigating its accounts. The company said it will be fully co-operating with the DoJ after it emerged last week the media giant was being probed by US officials for its financial practices concerning its online division. The probe began when the Washington Post claimed it has seen documents containing details of the company's transactions from July 2000 to March 2002. The paper alleged AOL has been using colourful accounting methods to inflate its advertising revenues.
