NEWS Liberty Media 's ongoing quest for European acquisitions has reached the doors of France Telecom, which has agreed to sell its Dutch cable television arm Casema for E750m. France Telecom will see the deal as an opportunity to ease its debt burden while John Malone's US media giant will see it as a return on its European ambitions. In the past year Liberty Media has been sniffing around Deutsche Telekom's cable assets as well as NTL and Telewest in the hope of developing a strong presence this side of the Atlantic. The Casema deal will give Liberty Media 1.3 million subscribers in the Netherlands.
