Lloyds goes Google

Search engine not baby talk...

NEWS Internet search engine Google has signed a £1m advertising deal with Lloyds TSB Insurance to boost the sale of its products. The insurance arm of the popular high-street bank paid the seven-figure sum for more than 1,000 insurance-related terms that closely match the firm's products. When a user types in one of the sponsored words a link appears to Lloyds' www.insurance.co.uk website. Google has turned to selling keyword searches after it saw a rapid decline in online advertising sales.
