EMI sues AOL

Isn't it ironic?

NEWS EMI is suing AOL Time Warner for illegally using its music. The case seeks millions of dollars for use of songs like Singing in the Rain and the theme tune to Rocky. EMI claims the media giant is misusing content from the archive of MGM films. AOL Time Warner may show the films but this does not give automatic rights over the songs - EMI claims. Separately, EMI announced the appointment of Richard Cottrell as global head of anti-piracy - a new post. Cottrell was previously head of distribution for EMI in the US.
