Chelsea winning the online Premiership

Less good news for another team in blue...

NEWS Chelsea may be perennial underachievers on the pitch, but they're setting the world alight online - topping silicon.com's league table of top performing Premiership websites. Chelsea's official site, which was dogged by poor performances last season, was accessible within an average time of 0.23 seconds, according to Keynote Systems. In second place last month was Blackburn Rovers (last season's bottom-placed side) with a highly respectable 0.75 seconds. Hot on Blackburn's heels are fellow northern sides Newcastle (0.85) and Bolton (0.86). The more 'fashionable' sides, such as Liverpool (eighth with 2.11 seconds), Arsenal (eleventh, 2.78) and Manchester United (fourteenth, 4.92) are all scrapping for mid-table mediocrity. However, bottom of the pile this month is United's city neighbour. Manchester City's website crawled along last month - taking on average 6.7 seconds to access. In terms of availability it was a pretty solid performance all round. Worst was Everton with 97.28 per cent availability during the month, while Charlton Athletic recorded the only perfect score of 100 per cent. The full league table of performance times looks like this. 1. Chelsea (0.23 seconds)
