NEWS eBay experienced site problems for several hours on Monday, delaying or preventing people from accessing parts of the popular auction site. The company said it has now resolved all the problems. "We have identified and corrected the issue that caused this situation, and full access has been restored to all members," the company said on its announcements board. "We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this issue has caused and thank you for your patience while we resolved this situation." eBay representatives did not return calls seeking comment. The company has put an emphasis on site stability after being plagued with site problems in the past. eBay's site suffered a nearly five-hour slowdown earlier this year. That followed a series of outages and problems in March and April. The company is in the middle of rolling out its next-generation V3 system architecture, which will include real-time updates for eBay's data warehouse and minute-by-minute updates for listings. Some 70 per cent of the page views delivered by eBay's servers are now on V3, the company said recently at its annual analyst day meeting. eBay also recently reported that it experienced 99.9 percent uptime in the third quarter. Such statistics do not typically include the company's weekly planned outages to update the site. The site problems on Monday initially prevented people from accessing completed auctions or using parts of their personalised "My eBay pages," which track auctions that members have recently bid on or listed, eBay said on its announcements board. The site problems caused pages on the site to load slowly for some users, eBay added. Initially the company reported that the site slowdown affected Netscape Navigator users and those who accessed the site via America Online. However, the company did not say what caused the problem, and it reported later that other members may have been affected. Troy Wolverton writes for News.com

Well, I am still having problems. My emails to other members are not being copied to me and I cannot send an e-mail to e-bay as each time I try I am told there was an error (Two days now) Members I have bought ebooks from are sending them and I am not receiving them. Is there any other way to contact this lot?

On Wednesday night 03/06 whilst uping a bid on a item my password was refused and the items sold for far less than I bid, I reported the problem to E-Bay customer support. My account was reset the next morning, however when bidding on a similar item I experienced the same problem, again I reported it to E-Bay customer support. On Friday afternoon I checked my e-mail to see if there was a reply from E-Bay but to my horror I was informed that my account had been suspended and items I had up for sale some with bids had been removed from sale and items I was bidding on after some time of watching have had my bids removed even on one where I was the only bidder. I have tried to contact E-Bay customer unit via e-mail and had no reply, also via their own links in the e-mail to me but just end up going in circles on the on-line help even when clicking on their "write to us" and "Rules & Safety Dept" links just takes you back to the beginning of the on-line help. Further more when I managed to access my "I D History" it states in large red letteres "This person has been suspended from E-Bay" for all to see despite my record being 100%. As of yet I have received no reply to my e-mails or given a reason to why I have been suspended.

Chris - sounds like your email account has been hacked. Check with your provider to be sure your email account is secure before trying to speak with eBay again. If a hacker has your email password, they can decide what email you see. Check that first.

Yes, I am still having problems too. I spent ages listing an item to sell and when clicking on the continue button I got a oops, page not found, either this page does not exist or it has moved.
When I go back and try selling again, everytime I click on start selling item (or whatever it is) it goes to the sign in page. I sign in (I have auto fill in so I am that much more sure that the page isnt a spoof) and the page just reloads. If I put in a wrong password (just to chech) it comes up with the usual details enterd does not match what we have on record etc.
This goes on over and over. Ebay just will not let me sell anything at the moment.
