C&W wins £12m reseller business

Carrier pre-selection the key...

NEWS Cable & Wireless has extended its relationship with telecoms services company Cable Direct, in a move worth around £12m. C&W will offer carrier pre-selection (CPS) at the exchange level meaning, Cable Direct's customers - mostly SMEs - will always use its services and not 'leak' onto to the tariffs of the company providing their physical phone line. CPS does away with the need for users to dial a pre-fix before using a preferred telco. Cable Direct concentrates on billing, sales and customer service and said it stepped up its arrangement with C&W because, for one thing, it wanted a partner that is financially secure and reliable.
