Micromuse buys Lumos for $3.5m

Let there be light...

NEWS Micromuse has bought Santa Monica-based Lumos Technologies to broaden the scope of its flagship network management software and get closer to some of the big communications equipment vendors. Lumos will cost Micromuse up to $2.7m in cash and an additional $800,000 in assumed debt. Lumos' technology will be integrated into Micromuse' Netcool product, with a view to giving equipment vendors, service providers and larger enterprises the ability to manage networks at the transport (Layer 1) and access layers better.
