NEWS silicon.com and its sister sites have received more than 500 nominations for the best companies in areas such as ecommerce and customer service. But after hours of deliberation, we have chosen shortlists in categories that will be decided purely on reader votes. And that's why we need you to visit this page. We have four categories for you to vote on. In the running for Customer Service and Support of the Year are dabs.com, Evesham, Novell, Simply Computers, and Symantec. They do different things but what mattered was the specific ways they affected you, as business customers. In the category Ecommerce Site of the Year are some well-known names. They are Crucial.com, Easyjet.com, Ebuyer.co.uk, Tesco.com and Lastminute.com. But don't just go on your own experiences - a range of user quotes are to hand. Most Promising Technology of the Year means a look towards the future. A number of you stuck your necks out but the shortlist we have represents the areas of: Ultrawideband, grid computing, ebXML, WiMAX and 3G. And finally our Outstanding Contribution to UK Technology sees three groups and one individual in the limelight. Who has done the most for their respective causes and so tech in this country? Choose between: Access to Broadband Campaign, All Party Parliamentary Internet Group, Internet Service Providers Association and Elizabeth France, the former Information Commissioner. Place those votes now at http://www.cnet.co.uk/awards/voting.
