NEWS Two people have been arrested in Singapore on charges of selling drugs over the internet.

A Singapore woman was arrested on Wednesday for selling designer drugs on a Yahoo Auction website. Earlier this week, police arrested a 29-year-old Singapore man for selling synthetic drugs during IRC (Internet Relay Chat) sessions.

Yesterday's suspect is a 24-year-old tour agency executive who was selling Ephedrine, a component of certain designer drugs, on a Yahoo auction site, according to the Straits Times.

If found guilty, she can be fined up to S$10,000 (£3,400), jailed up to three years or both. Earlier this week, a 29-year-old man and his 33-year-old supplier were arrested for selling tablets of the designer drug Erimin-5. The younger man has been selling them during IRC chat sessions.

Both men face at least two years in jail and two strokes of the cane if found guilty.
