You get a smarter investor...?

NEWS BT has won a £10.5m, five-year deal from Alliance & Leicester for an all-IP network upgrade that will connect 300 UK branches.

The telco will manage the financial services company's wide area network with a view to allowing better intranet and e-learning usage by staff.

A&L technology and process design director Russell Simm said BT understands his company's business and the financial sector in general.

Almost exactly a year ago BT won a similar contract from A&L competitor Abbey.
