NEWS Korean Air plans to offer in-flight high-speed internet access through Connexion by Boeing, a unit of aircraft maker Boeing, the companies announced Monday.
The service allows travellers to surf the web and access e-mail. Installation of equipment and service availability will begin early to mid-2005. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Similar in-flight services also will be available on Lufthansa and several other European and Asian carriers later this year.
A high percentage of South Korean citizens have access to broadband Internet access, creating a good barometer for measuring the popularity of the service with consumers familiar with the technology.
