AT&T wins $60m Deutsche Bank network deal

Will involve design and management of new infrastructure

NEWS AT&T is to become Deutsche Bank's main US carrier in a $60m, five-year deal that will see it helping with the design and management of the bank's next-generation network.

Under the deal, which extends Ma Bell's current relationship with the German financial powerhouse, the telco will standardise the voice and data links between the bank's 37 US locations.

It will also provide a high-speed link between the bank's data hubs in New York and New Jersey. The network infrastructure will provide business continuity capabilities in case of disaster.

The US-wide infrastructure will support a full range of services including email, proprietary databases, online transactions, internet, calling card services and telephony.

Deutsche Bank is overhauling its relationships with the companies providing networking and communications to the 74 countries in which it operates and is starting to set up a series of strategic relationships with a number of global providers.
