Ryanair staff get 'free speech' website

E-union activity

By Tony Hallett, 31 August 2004 10:15

NEWS Staff at budget airline Ryanair have been set up with a website where they can make their feelings about their employer felt, located at www.ryan-be-fair.org.

The site, still in 'holding page' mode, is backed by the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) and European Transport Workers' Federation.

It will allow workers to speak openly and - in some cases - anonymously. The ITF and others have said that employees in the past have not spoken out for fear of reprisals.

Ryanair famously does not recognise unions, though bosses such as founder Michael O'Leary say the company's workers are better-paid and treated than those at rival airlines.

To whom it concerns, After many Odoen colleagues and friends told me they wished that they had a website, that they could air thier views and concerns on, I have developed one www.odeonstaff.co.uk It is still in its very early stages as yet, but in time will prove to be as useful as 'Ryanairs' I am looking for a little help in promoting it in it's early stages and would be greatful for any help.
