NEWS Google's website was inaccessible for a brief time on Saturday and some visitors reported being rerouted to another site, leading some to believe that the search giant had been hacked.
The site was down from 15:45 to 16:00 (PST), according to a Google spokesperson.
"It was not a hacking or a security issue," the spokesperson said. The problem was related to the DNS (Domain Name System), which translates domain names for computers, he added.
"Google's global properties were unavailable for a short period of time. We've remedied the problem and access to Google has been restored worldwide."
Rumours that the site was hacked began when visitors were reportedly rerouted to SoGoSearch.com.

It doesn't surprise me, Google has been systematically removing succesful publishers from it's payroll for a while now. Expect to more disruptions as some people attempt to satisfy their anger against them!
