iTunes wants new mates

Fancy yourself as an affiliate?

NEWS iTunes has launched an affiliate scheme in the UK, letting third parties make money on the tracks they sell on behalf of Jobs and Co.

Apple-affiliated song sellers will be able to make four per cent commission on each single track or album they sell. Keen resellers can also extend the scheme, which is already running in the US and has attracted 150,000 resellers, to selling Apple hardware including the iPod.

The affiliate scheme is not open to just anyone, however: pornographic and racist sites are banned from taking part, as are any sites using spyware or sites otherwise deemed "inappropriate" by iTunes.

Signing up to the affiliate service, provided by Firstgate, is free.
