NEWS The BBC has released the first selection of its content to be made available under a Creative Commons-style licence.
More than 100 programme clips will be hosted on the BBC's Radio 1 and 1Xtra websites for users to watch, download and edit at will, under the proviso that none of the content is used for commercial or endorsement purposes.
The licence for using the content will be the BBC's own Creative Archive Licence, based on the Creative Commons licence.
Among the programme clips available to Auntie's viewers are organic hens laying eggs, a view of the Norfolk coast, an acacia plant growing in dung and 1980s calculators. The Beeb is running a video competition to encourage would be filmmakers to mix the clips.
