BT has made two acquisitions, widening its IT services and networking portfolio in Ireland and the UK.
The telco has bought the Cara Group, in line with its aim of becoming "the leading supplier of networked IT services in Irleand".
The company employs 134 staff and had revenues of €38m in 2004.
Meanwhile, with an eye on LANs, IP telephony and wireless networking and security, BT has bought TNS, which has 92 staff and annual revenue of £13.9m to the end of 2004.
TNS, which stands for Total Network Solutions (a football team goes by the same name), is based on Oswestry in Shropshire.
Analysts said the move should help support BT's convergence strategy.
