Social networking goes mobile

MySpace is the most popular website for Brits to post photos and videos captured on their mobiles, research reveals.

More than one-fifth of Britons who are capturing content via their mobiles and putting it online are using MySpace to share their wares, according to research from Telephia.

Top five social networking sites to upload mobile content in the UK

1. MySpace
2. Windows Live Spaces (including MSN spaces)
=3. Bebo
=3. YouTube
5. HI5

Windows live spaces, including MSN spaces, came second with Google-owned YouTube coming joint-third with networking site Bebo.

Bebo is pulling the teenage crowds with 40 per cent of British 15- to 17-year-olds who partake in mobile social networking using the site. MySpace and Windows Live Spaces attracted 27 per cent and 28 per cent respectively of that age bracket.

Across the pond, MySpace also topped the US charts as the most popular mobile social-networking site, with Facebook coming in second, Windows third and YouTube in fourth place.
