Photos: Renault F1 races into Second Life

silicon.com takes on Heikki Kovalainen - and guess who wins?

The ING Renault Formula One team has opened its very own island and race circuit (above) - in virtual world Second Life.

The island was launched at a virtual press conference - which took place at the Monaco Grand Prix and in London - with Renault racer Heikki Kovalainen and a team spokesman answering the questions.

So do you have to pay (in the SL currency, "Linden dollars" or whatever it's called) to race around the track??

Also, the people in the audience of the race track - are each of those actual individual avatars/profiles who use/reside in Second Life???

Clearly, as you can see, I do not use SL. And will never too.
