The Trinity Mirror newspaper group has completed the rollout of a new IP communications network to streamline its daily operations and distribute new content.
The network has been rolled out to 170 UK sites by NTL:Telewest Business which also provides full backup services.
Trinity Mirror owns the Daily Mirror and Daily Record as well as around 240 local newspaper titles and websites such as fish4.co.uk.

Ian Bailey, group networks services manager, told silicon.com: "We needed to establish a network we could rely upon to deliver content around the group."
Previously the group used several communications providers, a set-up which proved complicated to manage, according to Bailey.
Bailey said using one company to provide the service and support means issues can be resolved much more quickly as there is a single point of contact.
The rollout was carried out in two phases - starting in 2005 - with key offices going onto the new network first.
Bailey said: "To do everything as a big bang would have been a nightmare for us."
The new network is part of Trinity Mirror's effort to provide 24/7 production capabilities and a national backup network.
In addition, the organisation's IP CCTV network and access card security system make use of the network.
