Procter & Gamble in $650m network deal with BT

Global communications network to cut costs

Consumer packaged goods manufacturer Procter and Gamble (P&G) has signed a $650m deal for BT to manage its global communications network.

The five-year contract will see BT provide and manage P&G's local and wide area network infrastructure across more than 1,100 locations in 82 countries.

BT will provide a state-of-the-art, high speed, IP-based, firewall protected network that will offer conferencing, remote access, voice calls, IP telephony and internet services.

P&G hopes the deal will save money, as well as improving efficiency, flexibility, regulatory compliance and future proofing its IT infrastructure.

Jim Fortner, director of workplace and infrastructure solutions at P&G said in a statement: "We are confident that they can bring world-class innovation to transform our network and our business."
