Customers are responsible for their own wi-fi security, according to hotspot operators.

BT Openzone, The Cloud and T-Mobile all recommended wi-fi users adopt VPNs to help protect themselves while using hotspots.

Their comments follow a demonstration of email accounts being hacked through a public access hotspot on the BBC's Watchdog programme.

The only problem here is that my peoples Wifi connection was set up by their ISP.

I know a fair few people with Sky and they have no idea what their admin password is not to mention how to actually set it up.

So, if Sky or another ISP set up the connection then aren't they responsible.
